Calvin Tyler Scott (b. 1998) is a New York based photographer with a background as a writer and Surrealist.
Calvin has embraced photography as a means of coping with the symptoms of manic-depressive illness, channeling manic and depressive episodes through stark compositions. Influenced by both Surrealist and Modernist tradition, as well as mid-twentieth century portrait and fashion photography, Calvin’s photographs focus on the acts of sight and empathy, and the place of the medium in exploring his and the human condition.
